Miocic Open To Jon Jones Fight

Stipe Miocic isn’t one to back down from a challenge, and he’s not backing down from Jon Jones.

The UFC Heavyweight Champion appeared on Submission Radio and addressed Jon Jones and his call out for a potential fight between himself and the interim UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.

"It doesn’t bother me, honestly (laughs). Whoever you want me to fight, I’ll fight. Listen, I’m the champ and I’m not going to pick and choose who I fight. Whoever they want me to fight, I’m going to fight. So I really don’t care," Miocic said.

Jones, who was pulled from UFC 200 for a USADA violation, has never fought in the Heavyweight class before. But Miocic isn’t worried about that. He’s worried about fighting his next opponent, whoever that might be.

"I mean there is a lot of ways you can look at it. I’m not good at stuff. Like, if I was a matchmaker, I wouldn’t be fighting. So I’m just a fighter and they tell me who I’m gonna fight. So that’s all I worry about.”

"Oh that’s cool, man. We’ll have a great fight I think. It shows that I’m doing something right if you want to fight me," Miocic said.

Miocic last fought at UFC 203 where he defended his title against Allistair Overeem in his hometown of Cleveland. He defeated Overeem by knockout in the first round and is now 16-2 in UFC. Jones last fought April 23 against Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 197 in Las Vegas. He won the fight by unanimous decision to improve his record to 22-1.
