Mike Perry Claims Donald Cerrone Gave Up At UFC Fight Night Gdansk
Darren Till earned the biggest victory of his professional MMA career when he defeated Donald Cerrone in the main event of UFC Fight Night Gdansk.
Welterweight fighter Mike Perry was in attendance at the event and he claims that Cerrone simply gave up against Till.
“Yeah, he looked good against Donald — against Donald Cerrone,” Perry said after the event. “Not against ‘The Cowboy.’ That’s not the ‘Cowboy’ that wins fights. That’s the Donald that shows up. I wasn’t happy with Donald’s performance. I’ve seen him fight a lot better. Darren didn’t get a tough fighter tonight, he got someone who gave up in the first round. You know that’s not what we’re gonna see with me.”
Perry did get into a verbal confrontation with Till after the event and the two may face each other in the Octagon down the line.
The welterweight fighter knows that he cannot look past Santiago Ponzinibbio, who he battles at UFC On Fox 26.
“I’m ready to fight right now, man,” Perry said. “I wish I could have got in that cage with him, in that Octagon. But you know, it doesn’t work like that. We gotta be professionals about this, we’ve gotta sign the paperwork and we’re gonna make it happen. I’m pretty sure that it’s gonna go down. I look forward to it, but first I’ve got work to do first with Santiago Ponzinibbio in Winnipeg, Canada.”
UFC On Fox 26 takes place on Saturday, December 16 from the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with Robbie Lawler and Rafael Dos Anjos headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
