Mike Goldberg No Longer A Part Of Bellator Broadcast Team
It looks as if the short partnership with Mike Goldberg and Bellator has come to an end.
Bellator’s Scott Coker told The New York Post that Goldberg will not be providing commentary for upcoming Bellator events going forward. This comes after a new deal with Showtime that will feature Bellator fights on the platform. Goldberg’s name was not on the list of broadcasters for the ViacomCBS-owned promotion return to action.
“Mike Goldberg is not going to be part of the mix moving forward,” Coker stated.“But I think we had a great run with Mike, and the door’s always going to be open.”
During Bellator 255, the event was manned by the team of Mauro Ranallo, John McCarthy, Jenn Brown, Josh Thompson, and A.J. McKee. Michael C. Williams will continue being the ring announcer for the promotion.
The 56-year-old Goldberg made his debut for the UFC in 1997. Calling some of the most legendary fights for the promotion, Goldberg was famous for his memorable commentary calls. After over 18 years with the promotion, Goldberg joined Bellator in 2017, making his debut at Bellator 180 inside Madison Square Garden.
Goldberg has also provided commentary for other sports, including the NFL. It is unknown what is next for Goldberg in the world of MMA.
