Mike Goldberg Issues Statement On UFC Exit
UFC 207 may best be remembered for UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes thrashing former champion Ronda Rousey in just 48 seconds. However, for longtime UFC announcer Mike Goldberg, it would be the final UFC event he would call (as of now.)
Goldberg has issued the following statement about his surprising UFC exit on Twitter:
What an incredible ride! I’ll forever be grateful for being on this journey with all of you for the last 19 years! pic.twitter.com/reg3APxk9X
— Mike Goldberg (@MFG16) January 7, 2017
The tweet comes a little over a week after Goldberg’s son, Kole Goldberg, posted a tweet about how he felt the UFC had disrespected his father.
my dad did so much for the UFC over the past 13 years and they can't even give him a proper goodbye. what a joke @ufc

Outside of MMA, Goldberg has done commentary work for both the NHL and the NFL, but he has yet to announce his next move following his UFC exit.
