Former Bellator welterweight title challenger, Michael “Venom” Page, and former UFC veteran “Platinum” Mike Perry are set to meet in a bare-knuckle boxing bout at BKFC 27 on August 20 at the OVO Arena Wembley in London, England.
The promotion officially announced the matchup via a press release on Thursday. Page remains under contract with Bellator and will be making his bare-knuckle boxing debut. He’s coming off of a split-decision loss to interim Bellator welterweight champion, Logan Storley, back at Bellator 281 in his most recent outing. Perry meanwhile signed with the BKFC last October and is coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Julian Lane in his promotional debut at KnuckleMania 2 in February. BKFC President David Feldman gave the following statement on the Page-Perry booking.
“This will be one of the biggest fights of the year, MVP versus Platinum Perry is truly a fan’s fight! Two guys that come forward and have power in both hands. I am very excited to make our BKFC debut in London with a fight of this magnitude. Fans of combat sports in the UK will truly enjoy this event, as well as around the world. Thanks to the Bellator Team for helping make this happen!”
