Michael Bisping Thinks Luke Rockhold’s Career May Be Over

Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold suffered a second round knockout loss to Jan Blachowicz at UFC 239.

UFC Hall Of Fame member and former UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping believes that Rockhold’s professional MMA career may be over.

“The amount of messages that people have sent me, because everyone seems to think that I’m gonna take pleasure in seeing Luke knocked out like that, and it’s the opposite,” Bisping said on Believe You Me (via Christopher Taylor of BJPenn.com). “I really feel for the guy. I do. I feel bad for him. It’s a real shame. Not only did he get his jaw broke, but he’s now been knocked out cold, viciously, in three of his last four fights. And I can’t help but think that he’s done. Now that doesn’t mean that he’s going to be. What he could do is come back and prove everybody wrong! Prove me wrong. That’s what I would’ve done. That’s kind of what I did. And, if he does that.. Then my god! He will have my respect forever!”

Bisping and Rockhold have met twice before in the Octagon, with Rockhold winning at UFC Fight Night 55 and Bisping winning at UFC 199.

The UFC Hall Of Fame member believes that Rockhold getting knocked out so much could affect the fighter psychologically as well.

“It’s also the fact that it’s one thing getting knocked out cold once and coming back from that. But when you’ve been knocked out cold three of your last four, I mean, that is some psychological demons to overcome,” says Bisping.

Dana White has also suggested that Rockhold should retire, but Rockhold has yet to announce any decision regarding his professional MMA career.
