Michael Bisping Says Conor McGregor Gave Up At UFC 229
Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor returned after a near two year hiatus to suffer a fourth round submission loss to UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC 229.
Retired MMA fighter Michael Bisping believes that McGregor simply agve up during the fight, which was why the Irishman tapped out.
“Look, what happened towards the end is that Conor gave up, because the choke wasn’t even under the chin; it wasn’t on the neck, but it’s easy to sit here and say he gave up. When you’re tired and when you’ve been pounded for four rounds,” Bisping said on the UFC 229 post-fight show. “Let’s not forget that, in that second round, Khabib put it on him bad. When you get to round four, the choke doesn’t need to be perfect, the technique doesn’t need to be perfect. It sucks.”
McGregor has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of them have come by way of submission. The former two division champions other submission losses have come to Nate Diaz, Joe Duffy and Artemij Sitenkov.
The former two division champion also has twenty one wins as a professional MMA fighter, with just one of those victories coming by way of submission.
