Michael Bipsing/Tyron Woodley Superfight In The Works?
The UFC has not shied away from superfights in recent years and after a confrontation backstage at UFC 207, anotheR may be in the works.
The following was posted on Instagram by UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping:
While the fight is far from complete between Bisping and UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley, this confrontation between the two could lead to one of the biggest bouts of 2017 — albeit one nobody was clamoring for.
Bisping hasn’t competed since UFC 204, where he defeated Dan Henderson by unanimous decision, it was his first title defense. Woodley hasn’t competed himself since UFC 205, where he defended his title by fighting Stephen Thompson to a majority draw.
Bisping has been rumored to be defending his title shortly against Yoel Romero, who had a highlight reel knockout of former middleweight champion Chris Weidman at UFC 207. As for Woodley, he has been challenging everybody from UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor to former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre to a fight.
The UFC has yet to comment on the matter, but with only one pay-per-view main event announced at this time (Holly Holm/Germaine De Randamie at UFC 208), this would be a fight to watch.
