Merab Dvalishvili Talks UFC Moscow, Bad Luck In The Octagon & Potential Sean O’Malley Fight

Merab Dvalishvili looks for his first win under the UFC banner at UFC Fight Night Moscow, facing Terrion Ware in a bantamweight division attraction.

The fighter has had a rough time thus far in the UFC, with two victories that were stolen from him in Dvalishvili’s opinion.

“Yes, I’m like ‘I’m supposed to be two 2-0 in the UFC,’ but I’m 0-2. First fight, I was sick and I had the flu. I don’t cancel fight and I don’t turn fight down, I still fight and I still win this fight. I have bantamweight record of eleven takedowns, he (Frankie Saenz) had zero. The judges scored it by split decision, I lost or whatever because I was sick. I’m like…whatever happens…okay, I’m ready for next. Next come, I was winning fight (against Ricky Simon) and something crazy happened. Of course, last minute…everyone saw what happened, still I win fight…time was over. Of course, they (the judges) stole fight from me. I mean this happened, this is life. Everything happens for a reason, makes me stronger. I have fight and I have hope, focus for next fight. I just wanna win and I know I’m gonna win, I know I’m dangerous for everybody in my weight class. I’m training with great team…Serra-Longo, I have great partners. I saw in my training with Chris Weidman that he is the best motivation for me, I know I’m strong and nothings going to stop me,” says Dvalishvili in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.

Ware is also looking for his first UFC win against Dvalishvili, as both fighters are a combined 0-5-0 under the UFC banner.

Dvalishvili needs to get that win at UFC Fight Night Moscow and he know that, which is why the fighter wants to win via any means possible.

“I think I’m ready for a real fight…like a crazy fight, that’s how I see it…he loves fighting and he loves striking. He’s coming forward to, I wanna mix it up. I don’t only wanna strike him, but I wanna take him down. I wanna hold him (down), I just wanna win,” says Dvalishvili.

UFC Fight Night Moscow takes place on Saturday, September 15 from the Olympic Stadium in Moscow, Russia with Mark Hunt and Alexey Oleinik headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
