Mayweather vs. McGregor Will Be For The WBC “Money” Title

Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor has it all: extremely controversial press conferences, changes to long-standing rules regarding fighter safety and now the fight will be contested for an alligator belt.

Yep. An alligator belt.

On the final press conference days before Mayweather and McGregor meet in the squared circle, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman announced that the fight will be a title fight. That title will be the WBC "Money" belt, a new title created because of how unique the August 26 bout is.

"The WBC has had in Floyd Mayweather the most loyal champion in our history," Sulaiman said. "He conquered five titles in five different divisions. Has won the diamond belt, the gold belt, the emerald belt. And in order to celebrate this great event between the WBC champion and the UFC hero Conor McGregor, the WBC has created 'The Money Belt.'"

The exact contents of the fight were revealed in the press conference: 3360 diamonds, 600 sapphires, 300 emeralds and alligator leather made from Italy.

The organization is no stranger to making special titles for special boxing matches. The WBC has discussed for the past couple of months whether or not the governing body would make the fight a title fight.

The only thing missing from this ordeal is that "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase fights the winner in a "No Holds Barred" match at next year's WrestleMania.
