Maryna Moroz Wants To Fight Paige VanZant Next
Maryna Moroz competed on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night Philadelphia, defeating Sabina Mazo by unanimous decision.
A victorious Moroz has her next opponent in mind and that person would be Paige VanZant.
“I think I need for me, three months and fight,” Moroz said after the event (via Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie). “Three months and fight. I don’t know who. For me it’s a new division 125. … I need to talk to my coach about who is a good opponent for me, but maybe Paige VanZant. She’s a good fighter. She win (her last fight) and I win (tonight).”
VanZant last competed at UFC Fight Night Brooklyn, defeating Rachael Ostovich by second round submission.
Moroz also made her flyweight division debut in Philadelphia and she felt a lot better than when competing at strawweight.
“I feel amazing,” Moroz said. “I have a lot of energy because I don’t cut weight. Before it was 20 pounds cut, now it’s 12 or 15. It’s easy for me. Now I have a lot of energy, I feel more strong. Amazing.”
There is no word at this time as to when VanZant will return to action, as the fighter is currently recovering from a fractured arm.
