Malki Kawa Says Jon Jones Ready To Come Back And Kick DC’s Ass

Daniel Cormier became a two division UFC champion at UFC 226 when he defeated Stipe Miocic to win the UFC Heavyweight Title.

Malki Kawa serves as the agent for former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones and he claims that Jones cannot wait to come back to putting a beating on DC.

“I guess now we can say welcome to the club. He’s actually a champion,” Kawa said on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show. “He won the Heavyweight championship and no one can take that way from him, he is the heavyweight champion of the world. So that was one thing. He said, ‘Malk, this is the best that that could’ve happened because now I have the choice to come back and kick his ass at Light Heavyweight or heavyweight.’ So he was just happy, excited.”

Jones already holds a victory over the two division champion, with that win coming at UFC 182, while their bout at UFC 214 was overturned to a no contest after Jones failed a drug test in line with the event.

Kawa even claims that Jones is willing to fight Cormier at both light heavyweight and heavyweight.

“When you beat a guy twice and the second time was more than convincing than the first time, Jon is not the type of guy that says ‘It should’ve been me,’” Kawa said. “He says, ‘Great, now it’s my time to come back and it’s my choice to be heavyweight or light heavyweight.’ And that’s awesome.”

It may be awhile before Jones can even step foot in the Octagon, as he is still awaiting punishment for the aforementioned failed drug test in line with UFC 214.
