Malignaggi Says McGregor Can’t Progress Due To Arrogance
Paulie Malignaggi has taken aim at UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor ever since the Irishman’s camp claimed that McGregor dropped the retired boxer during their sparring sessions.
The retired boxer has now come out to say that McGregor’s arrogance is holding him back from progressing as a boxer.
“My problem with Conor is his arrogance,” said Malignaggi on Fox 5 Sports Xtra. “His arrogance is to the point where he can’t progress. He can’t learn. He just wants a bunch of yes men around him.”
McGregor would need to make as much progress as he can because the fight against Floyd Mayweather will mark his professional MMA debut.
Maliganaggi also claims that McGregor can’t handle criticism, but he would rather just be praised for the work he’s putting in.
“He doesn’t want to be told that he’s doing something wrong. He doesn’t want to be told that he needs to make progress, so that he needs to change certain things. Whatever he’s doing, he just wants to be told how great he’s doing,” says Maliganggi.
In his only comments thus far on the claim that he knocked Maliganggi down, the UFC LIghtweight Champion claims that the retired boxer did indeed get whipped in the sparring sessions.
