Mairbek Taisumov Calls Out Edson Barboza
Mairbek Taisumov has won six of the seven fights he competed at in the UFC and is currently ranked #15 in the UFC Lightweight Division.
The six victories the fighter has earned thus far in the UFC came over Tae Hyun Bang, Marcin Bandel, Anthony Christodoulou, Alan Patrick, Damir Hadzovic and Felipe Silva. However, none of those fighters were ranked or have ever been ranked in the UFC Lightweight Division.
For his next appearance in the Octagon, the top 15 lightweight wouldn’t mind facing a higher caliber opponent in Edson Barboza.
Taisumov made the challenge to Barboza through Twitter:
Tired of talking but the fans asked for this fight, I'm ready anytime! Are you ready @EdsonBarbozaJR? #Taisumov #Berkut #UFC @ufc@UFCEurope pic.twitter.com/waSxl0XR5M

Barboza, who sits at #4 in the UFC Lightweight Division, has yet to respond to the call out from Taisumov. UFC Fight Night 106 was the last time MMA fans saw Barboza in action and on that night, the lightweight fighter finished Beneil Dariush via second round knockout.
There are still twelve UFC events left in 2017, so there are plenty of spots to fill if these two lightweight competitors decide to battle it out.
