Main Event Set For PFL 3

The main event is set for the upcoming Professional Fighters League 3 event and it is going to be a heavyweight division attraction as Blagoy Ivanov faces Caio Alencar.

Ivanov (15-1-0-1NC) was the final World Series Of Fighting Heavyweight Champion and he defended the belt three times before the promotion morphed into the PFL. Ivanov also competed six times in Bellator MMA, earning notable wins over Rich Hale and Lavar Johnson. Ivanov hasn’t suffered a defeat in well over three years, with that last defeat coming to UFC veteran Alexander Volkov at Bellator 120 in May 2014.

Alencar (11-1-0) enters the fight riding a three fight winning streak, with that last victory coming over Jared Rosholt at the WSOF 34. Alencar also competed a total of four times in the Shooto Brazil promotion, having won all four of the fights he competed in. Alencar has only seen just one of his twelve professional MMA fights go the distance and that lone fight came against Jose Rodrigo Guelke at Shooto Brazil 52 in December 2014.

Professional Fighters League 3 takes place on Thursday, November 2 from the Washington Hilton in Washington D.C with Blagoy Ivanov and Caio Alencar headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on a variety of services.
