Mackenzie Dern Talks Invicta FC debut Dec.8, Weight Cutting & Gives TUF 26 Prediction
At only 24 years-old, Mackenzie Dern has long been among the most hyped and highly touted female prospects in MMA. After her first year in MMA, she's looking to gain entry into the UFC.
Although she signed with Invicta FC, and will compete for them on December 8, Dern told Fightful.com's James Lynch that she's hoping a win against opponent Kaline Medeiros will get her a UFC call.
"I hope so. That's the goal. Maybe Dana will be watching!," Dern said.
Dern also revealed that she's picking Sijara Eubanks to win The Ultimate Fighter season 26, which would earn her the new UFC Flyweight Championship. She also said that she passed up an offer to try out for the show.
"No, especially to cut weight. To cut, to be in the house, and everyone seeing you suffer. I have tons of friends, and I'm a friendly person, but to be in a house without my dog, family, my boyfriend, I can't do it. They had asked my manager if (i wanted to try out). We thought it was better to stay out," said Dern.
In the full interview, Mackenzie Dern (4-0) discusses her upcoming fight against Kaline Medeiros (8-5) at Invicta FC 26 on Dec. 8. Mackenzie also talks about her cut to 115lbs ahead of this fight, her training camp, a potential jump to the UFC, her pick for TUF 26 and her thoughts on the "Mackenzie Dern accent" video.
