Lightweight Fight Added To UFC 212
A lightweight division attraction is the latest addition to this June’s UFC 212 card as Olivier Aubin-Mercier will be up against Leonardo Santos.
Aubin-Mercier (9-2-0) has won five of his last six fights in the UFC, those wins came over Jake Lindsey, David Michaud, Tony Sims, Thibault Goiti and Drew Dober. Aubin-Mercier was a finalist on the UFC Ultimate Fighter Nations, losing to Chad Laprise in those finals by way of decision. Aubin-Mercier is currently undefeated on UFC pay-per-view cards, having earned wins at both UFC 186 and UFC 206.
Santos (16-3-1) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, with notable wins coming over the trio of Efrain Escudero, Kevin Lee and Adriano Martins. Santos has only suffered a single defeat in the last 8 years, with that loss coming to Kazunori Yokota at Sengoku: Eighth Battle in May 2009. Santos also competed once in the UK-based Cage Warriors promotion, defeating Mark Holst at Cage Warriors Fight Night 7 in September 2012.
UFC 212 takes place on Saturday, June 3 from the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil with Jose Aldo and Max Holloway headlining. Fightful will be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
