Lightweight Fight Added To UFC 209
A lightweight division attraction has been added to March’s UFC 209 as Lando Vannata will be seeing some action against David Teymur.
Vannata (5-1-0) has won just one of two fights under the UFC banner, defeating John Makdessi for the lone UFC win and suffering a lone UFC defeat to Tony Ferguson. Vannata is a former Rocky Mountain Rubicon Lightweight Champion, he defeated Ramico Blackman to win the championship in April of 2016, he gave up the belt when he signed with the UFC. Vannata has yet to see any of his six professional MMA fights go the distance and only two of them have gone to the second round.
Teymur (5-1-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated the duo of Martin Svensson and Jason Novelli. Teymur was a cast member on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 22, he would make it to the third round before losing to Marcin Wrzosek. Teymur has only seen two of his six professional MMA bouts go the distance, those were the first two fights of his MMA career.
UFC 209 takes place on Saturday, March 4 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time.
