Leon Edwards, Dominick Reyes Pick Up Big Decision Wins At UFC Londn
UFC London had Darren Till atop the marquee, but it wasn’t without a solid undercard on the show’s main card.
A top-15 battle between #10 Leon Edwards and #13 Gunnar Nelson. A largely uneventful first two rounds concluded when Nelson got cracked with a hard elbow from Edwards that dropped him. Nelson survived the round, but had a busted eye, and was surprisingly sent back out for round three. That wasn’t enough for Nelson to pick up the win, as Edwards instead was given the split call.

#6 Volkan Oezdemir actually came in to UFC London as a big underdog against fast-rising #8 Dominick Reyes. Both men have incredible power that had many predicting an early knockout finish either way. As it turns out, the underdog Oezdemir would grind the younger Reyes for three rounds, playing the long game on his way. However, the judges saw it differently, giving the bout to the undefeated Reyes. Oezdemir hasn’t won since 2017, and Reyes moves to 5-0 in the UFC. After the fight, Reyes proclaimed that he was “coming for Jon Jones.”
