Leon Edwards Decisions Donald Cerrone In The UFC Fight Night Singapore 2018 Headliner

The UFC Fight Night Singapore 2018 event is in the books and Leon Edwards picked up a unanimous decision win over Donald Cerrone in the headlining bout.

While the bout was mainly contested on the feet, a few takedowns were scored by Cerrone in the latter portions of the fight.

Here is an excerpt from Fightful’s live coverage of the final round of the fight:

Round Five: The round begins with Edwards popping Cerrone with a two punch combination, Cerrone catches Edwards with a side kick. Cerrone catches Edwards with a knee strike before eating a left, Cerrone charges at Edwards while throwing a combination. Edwards attacks Cerrone with some leg kicks, Edwards continues backing from Cerrone while throwing an occasional kick. Cerrone grabs Edwards and he gets him against the cage wall, Cerrone scores a takedown on Edwards and he gets the half guard. Edwards gets up after eating a few strikes, the fighters separate and Edwards kicks away at Cerrone. The fighters have a wild striking exchange as the round ends.

Official Result: #13 Leon Edwards def. #11 Donald Cerrone by unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 48-47)

A victorious Edwards did call out fellow welterweight Jorge Masvidal after the fight, which also served as Edwards first main event fight under the UFC banner.
