Khabib Nurmagomedov Starting Camp; But No Fight Announced Yet

Khabib Nurmagomedov has plans for his next fight, and despite no opponent being announced yet, does have an event in mind — UFC 209.

Despite the fact that the UFC has yet to announce Nurmagomedov’s next fight, he has taken to Instagram to show that he is in camp to prepare for whats next.

Nurmagomedov’s agent, Ali Abdelaziz, recently spoke with MMA Junkie and said that if Tony Ferguson still doesn’t want the fight, maybe they could get one with another TUF Champion.

“We want Ferguson,” Abdelaziz said. “He deserves it, but we can’t negotiate a deal for him. We even offered Ferguson money. Khabib was that generous, but it is what is. I hope they get a deal done. I want to see Khabib against Ferguson, but it’s up to them. As long as it’s for a piece of gold, we’ll face any 155-pounder on the planet. We want a ranked guy. Maybe Michael Chiesa would make sense. We’ll see.”

It's worth noting that Ferguson is rejecting the fight because he wants paid the same amount as Nurmagomedov, and UFC President Dana White won't budge.

UFC 209 takes place on Saturday, February 11 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with Holly Holm and Germaine De Randamie headlining.
