Kevin Aguilar Looking To Headline A UFC Card In His Next Fight
Kevin Aguilar competed on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night Philadelphia, defeating Enrique Barzola by decision.
A victorious Aguilar, who has competed just two times in the UFC, is looking to headline a card in his next fight.
“Those guys are world-class strikers,” Aguilar said after the event (via Fernando Prates & Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie). “They’re at the top of their game, they’re contenders, they’re ranked. To be on a card with them, that’s an honor for me. But I’m looking to be the headliner next time.”
Aguilar has yet to headline a UFC card, but he has been a part of multiple main events in the Legacy Fighting Alliance.
The fighter apparently suffered no severe injuries or damage during the fight, so Aguilar is ready to go when the UFC needs him.
“No injures, no damage – so, I’m ready to go again,” Aguilar said. “The second they say, ‘Hey, I’ve got a fight for you next week,’ I’m there. An opportunity like this, you can’t pass up. You have to go at it every day, every second you can, as hard as you can. You want to leave a mark. You want a statue of yourself outside Philly Arena. That’s what you want. That’s what you’re aiming for.”
In his other appearance with the UFC, a surging Aguilar defeated Rock Glenn by unanimous decision at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale.
