Kamaru Usman vs. Colby Covington II Scheduled For UFC 268 In November

One of the greatest welterweight title fights in UFC history will get a second chapter, as current UFC champion Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington are set to run it back.

The news of the rematch between the welterweight rivals was first reported by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, who revealed that UFC President Dana White had confirmed the booking with him. The official date and venue are yet to be determined by the promotion, but according to Okamoto’s report, a November date in New York City seems to be the likely plan.

Usman is arguably the current pound-for-pound best fighter in the sport and has gone 3-0 since the first meeting with Covington at UFC 245 in December 2019. This will be the second consecutive rematch for the Nigerian welterweight king, he defeated Jorge Masvidal via a second-round knockout at UFC 261 in his last outing. Covington on the other hand has only made one Octagon appearance since the first defeat to Usman, earning a title shot after beating former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley via a fifth-round TKO at UFC Vegas 11.
