Justin Gaethje Believes He Has Five Fights Left In Him
Former WSOF LIghtweight Champion Justin Gaethje came up short against Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC On Fox 29.
The lightweight has competed a total of twenty times as a professional MMA fighter, but feels that he has just five fights left before it's all over.
“I’ve got about five fights in me,” Gaethje said after the event. “Before this I said I’ve got six. … I want the biggest fights possible. Coming off two losses, that’s hard to say, but you want to see me fight. But, if you don’t see me fight live, you will regret it when I’m done. It’s not going to be very long. I’ve got five left.”
Gaethje had a lot of success competing in the World Series Of Fighting, but has won just one of three under the UFC banner.
With five fights potentially left in his professional MMA career, one thing Gaethje wants to keep doing is entertain the fans.
“I don’t fight to win or lose, as stupid and crazy as that sounds,” Geathje said. “I go in there to entertain people This is the entertainment business. I go in there and I fight for money. That’s what I do, and it helps me to get paid.”
There is no word yet on whom Gaethje will fight next or when that bout could be coming.
