Jorge Masvidal Says UFC Using Him Like A Hitman

Jorge Masvidal will be entering the biggest fight of his UFC career at UFC 211 when he battles Demian Maia.

The fighter believes that the UFC is using him as a hitman to take out fighters who they don’t want to get a title shot.

“Because they did the math, the ancient secret math,” he said on The MMA Hour. “They’re looking at me and going, yo, this guy is complete bro, in all f*cking areas. We could use this guy to eliminate the guys that we don’t like. So maybe Masvidal, we can’t push him that much, but we could use him to eliminate the others, because this guy for real. He’s a bad guy.”

Masvidal will be entering the fight with Maia on a three fight losing streak. According to Masvidal, it doesn’t matter who he is fight, as long as that fight gets him closer to a title shot.

“He’s on a six fight winning streak, and he’s beaten some good guys,” Masvidal said. “So, if they had told me that Demian was fighting for the title and I was fighting somebody else, and then I would fight for the title, as long as that somebody else was the next closest thing to the title, I wouldn’t have cared. As long as I had the next closest thing to a title. So I don’t feel bad for him. At the end of the day, he’s going to get a paycheck.”

UFC 211 takes place on Saturday, May 13 from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas with Stipe Miocic and Junior Dos Santos headlining. Fightful will be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
