Johny Hendricks No Longer Under A UFC Contract
Former UFC Welterweight Champion Johny Hendricks last competed in a TKO loss to Paulo Costa at UFC 217.
Hendricks, who has only won just one of his last six fights, is no longer under a contract with the UFC after the Costa bout.
It is also unknown at this time of the UFC is interested in signing the former welterweight champion, who holds a 13-8-0 record in the promotion.
The fighter captured the UFC Welterweight Title back at UFC 171 after getting a razor thin decision win over Robbie Lawler.
However, the champion would lose his gold in a rematch with Lawler at UFC 181 after another razor thin decision for the two.
Then a move to the middleweight division would come for the former welterweight champion, but he would not find much success at 185 pounds. Hendricks would only win one of three fights in the division, with that lone win coming over Hector Lombard at UFC Fight Night 105.
Of those eight losses the former welterweight champion suffered in the UFC, three of them would come to former UFC Welterweight Champions or title challengers (Georges St. Pierre, Robbie Lawler and Stephen Thompson).
Neither Hendricks or the UFC have commented on the fighters future with the organization.
