Joe Rogan Thinks Stipe Miocic Could Retire After UFC 260
UFC commentator and comedian Joe Rogan thinks that former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic’s fight at UFC 260 could very well be his last.
Rogan gave his opinion of the Cleveland Firemen’s fighting future with former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and fellow UFC commentator Jon Anik in the post-fight show of UFC 260, where they discussed the fallout of Miocic’s second-round knockout loss to Francis Ngannou in their rematch in the night’s main event.
“It could be the end of a long and storied career. It’s entirely up to him,” Rogan said (h/t The Irish Sun). “I’m sure he’s gonna take some time and rest and think things through, but what a career the man has had. Very underappreciated, beaten legends, but I think he ran into an unstoppable force tonight. When you have a guy like Francis who is a one-in-a-million physical specimen, maybe one in eighty million, right?”
Miocic will turn 39 years old this August and is also expecting to welcome his second child, a son this year as well. He released the following statement via his Instagram after the loss to Ngannou and mentioned he is looking forward to spending time with his family this summer.
“That was my error that I accept, it wont happen again. Lastly, I’d like to congratulate @francisngannou and his team on a well earned victory. Saturday night was your night, enjoy your victory! For now, I’m going to enjoy the down time, spend some time with my family, and welcome our son into the world this summer… stay tuned, God bless —- —- #cletillidie”
