Jessica-Rose Clark Offered Andrea Lee Help After Domestic Violence Incident

UFC fighter Andrea Lee was recently the victim of domestic violence, done at the hands of her estranged husband Donny Aaron.

Fellow UFC fighter Jessica-Rose Clark was also the victim of domestic violence and she offered Lee some help.

“I don’t know her personally,” Clark told MMA Fighting. “We’ve always just interacted online. But I messaged her on Twitter straight away and said, ‘Hey man, I’ve got a spare room. I’ll pay for you and your daughter to come out to [Las] Vegas if you just need to get away.’ And I sent her my number.”

Ironically, a few weeks later, it would be the UFC that would book Clark against Lee at UFC On Fox 31.

While some may have been critical for the UFC to have Lee fight so soon after the personal issues became public, it is a move that Lee’s opponent is applauding.

“She’s a fighter, same as I am,” Clark said. “That’s what she loves to do and that’s her happy place and that’s her sanctuary. I think it’s a lot more dangerous for her to be sitting on the sidelines, kind of sitting around thinking about it. At least right now she has something to work towards. She knows she has a paycheck coming to her. She has something to focus on instead of sitting at home just kind of processing everything that happened. I was very grateful that after I went through what I went through, I got to fight really quickly. It gave me something else to focus on, so I wasn’t just kind of wallowing in my situation, if that makes sense. I do think it’s smart of her to take the fight. And I don’t feel bad about it at all. I’m giving her an opportunity to do something she that loves after she’s had something so horrible happen to her.”

UFC On Fox 31 takes place on Saturday, December 15 from the Sports Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
