Jarred Brooks talks UFC Utica, Training at Michigan Top Team & Pro-Wrestling

Jarred Brooks is back in action in just a week at UFC Fight Night Utica and he will face Jose "Shorty" Torres on that night.

The rising contender has had his fair share of battles in the cage over the years, but also seems to be battling some things in regards to relationships as well.

“Yeah, its really tough to date…you think you have the time and you don’t. I’m a big lover, so when I get into a relationship, I love them to the depths. Besides that, chicks are just regular nowadays. There’s nothing, girls my age especially, they just want to go out and have fun and party,” says Brooks in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.

While Brooks may not have the best record in regards to relationships with the opposite sex, one thing the fighter does have is a solid resume in the cage, having won thirteen of fourteen pro bouts.

Brooks has seen a lot of his fellow MMA fighters venture into pro wrestling and vice versa, but the “fake sport” doesn’t seem to interest him anymore.

“I was always interested in that when I was a kid, just buying WWE action figures and being like that. Then I started to realize it was fake and then I was like ‘screw this wrestling, I’m gonna go with the real wrestling.’ I’m an entertainer and that comes naturally, so I think that I could do that pretty well. I could do movies and stunts like that pretty well, I’m pretty diverse when it comes to my talent,” says Brooks.

UFC Fight Night Utica takes place on Friday, June 1 from the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, New York with Jimmie Rivera and Marlon Moraes headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
