James Vick Says He Can Beat Anybody In The World
Lightweight competitor James Vick is going to be fighting Marco Polo Reyes on the preliminary card of this weekend's UFC 211 event.
Not only does Vick think that he could defeat Reyes, but the fighter is under the impression that he could defeat anybody in the world.
“At this point, I feel like my skillset is high enough that I can beat anybody in the world,” Vick said to MMA Junkie. “I believe that. And I believe it’s coming. I know it’s going to come. After this fight, I see some changes on the horizon.”
Vick’s not even ranked in the lightweight division top 15, despite the fact that he has won six of seven fights in the UFC.
The fighter also wishes that those at the top of the lightweight division would be willing to fight him down the line.
“I just think a lot of these top guys, they won’t want to take chances,” Vick said. “They want all of us up-and-coming killers to fight each other because they don’t want to have to fight us. There’s tons of guys in the top 15 that I would beat. And there’s a lot of guys that aren’t in the top 15 that would beat those guys, and they know it. Why would they take those risks? Not that they’re scared; they’re just not stupid, either.”
UFC 211 takes place on Saturday, May 13 from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas with Stipe Miocic and Junior Dos Santos headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
