The pro wrestler turned MMA fighter best known as Jack Swagger returned to the Bellator cage Saturday night, tasked with his newest opponent, TJ Jones. It didn’t take long for Swagger to emerge victorious.

A quick takedown was followed by top wristlock and double wristlock attempts, before Hager applied an arm triangle to gain the win. Hager held on to the hold a little bit too long, which gained the frustration of referee Mike Beltran. Hager was met with a chorus of boos and heeled the crowd when he said he wanted to be sure the tap actually happened.

Hager scaled back his media obligations heavily to prepare for the fight, but had told Fightful earlier this year that he hoped to compete three or four times in 2019. Either way, he made sure to say he was “rock hard with emotion” after the fight.
