Jacare Doesn’t Want Anderson Silva To Get A Title Shot

Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza will be fighting fellow top 15 middleweight Tim Boetsch next month at UFC 208.

Souza, who is a training partner of former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, doesn’t want Silva to reclaim the gold just yet.

"Friendship continues. (But) I’d definitely be upset because I’m the next in line,” Souza said to MMA Fighting. "I’m not a hypocrite and say ‘Oh, cool.’ No, it’s not cool at all. I’d be super upset, but God blessed him. Man, God really likes Anderson because he does many things and almost everything works. Even when he does it wrong, it's right after all. I want to be friends with a guy that is so loved by God."

Souza says that fighters have jumped ahead of him before, and doesn't want that happening again.

"Man, this thing about cutting the line is happening so much with me that I’m used to it already,” Souza said. "Go on in front of me, my lawyer is God. I’m cool. I have my house, my family is healthy, I’m fine with my wife. Want to cut the line, do it, just don’t turn your ass to me because I’m a man and that doesn’t work. But if you want to cut the line, go for it."

UFC 208 takes place on Saturday, February 11 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with Holly Holm and Germaine De Randamie headlining.
