Israel Adesanya Says UFC 236 Is All About Him
The undefeated middleweight is walking into the Octagon with one mindset, which is that UFC 236 is all about him.
“It’s all about me and how I move in this fight,” Adesanya said at the UFC 236 open workouts (via Steven Marrocco & John Morgan of MMA Junkie). “It’s not really about him. He can do what he wants to do, but I’m going to make him do what I want to do.”
Adesanya had a quick turnaround to compete at UFC 236, as he just competed two months ago in the main event of UFC 234.
While the fighter has a certain mindset heading into UFC 236, it hasn’t stopped him from recognizing how dangerous of a competitor that Gastelum is.
“Kelvin’s not scared; he’s dangerous,” Adesanya said. “That’s what excites me about him. Mexicans are known for their warrior spirit. He’s going Mexican style of MMA. I’m looking to put him on the stake, as well.”
UFC 236 takes place on Saturday, April 13 from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia with Max Holloway and Kelvin Gastelum headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
