Instant Replay Overturns DQ At Bellator 251 And Awards KO Win
Instant replay was used to correctly award Derek Anderson with a knockout win at Bellator 251 after initially appearing as a disqualification.
Anderson was initially disqualified after landing what appeared to be a head kick to a grounded opponent on Thursday night. A replay of the footage revealed that his opponent, Killys Mota, had his knees just off the ground when the kick landed. Referee Mike Beltran initially deemed the strike illegal before officially reversing his decision.

Mota was stretchered out of the cage after absorbing the legal blow. After reviewing the footage, it seems Anderson’s toes caught Mota on the chin. He was conscious when the referee intervened.
