Holly Holm Current Favorite To Face Katie Taylor In Her Homecoming Bout | Social Media Roundup
Women’s boxing world champion Katie Taylor is expected to make her highly anticipated return to Ireland this Autumn, the current front runner to face Taylor in her homecoming bout has emerged to be former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm — this and much more on Tuesday’s social media roundup.
Holly Holm emerges as the front runner to face Katie Taylor at Croke Park this Autumn
Despite suffering a tough loss to Ketlen Vieira this past weekend, the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm has today emerged as the front runner to face the current #1 ranked female boxer on the planet Katie Taylor this Autumn in Ireland.
This news was revealed this morning by Irish boxing reporter Sean McGoldrick who broke the news after reporting that negotiations for a rematch between Taylor and Amanda Serrano had been halted.

Despite having taken a lot of tough losses inside the Octagon recently, Holm has been expressing her desire to return to the boxing ring before she calls time on her combat sports career, and a fight against Taylor would be perfect for her as there is probably not a bigger fight out there for Holm in MMA.
Many people will be confused as to why Holm is the front runner to face Taylor in her return fight in Ireland but given the fact that Holm has been a household name ever since she knocked out Ronda Rousey and given that she is about to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, you can’t really argue with the reasons for the fight being spoke about despite Holm not being active in boxing.
McGoldrick also reported that although Holm is now the favorite to face Taylor, the one major stumbling block will be whether or not UFC president Dana White will be willing to sign off on a deal to let Holm fight outside of the promotion as she is still under contract with the UFC.
Would you like to see Taylor and Holm fight if the rematch with Serrano can’t be made?
