Henry Cejudo Wants To Be Paid More, Or He’ll Retire
The fighter, who is recovering from shoulder surgery, wants to be paid more money or he’ll be walking away from the sport for good.
“I’m in this game for 100 percent money. I’m not in this for another championship. I’ve accomplished everything that I’ve wanted to accomplish. There’s only one thing that’s missing. That’s a whole bunch of zeroes behind me competing and entertaining a bunch of people. That’s it,” Cejudo said to MMA Fighting (via Adam Martin of BJPenn.com). “I’m okay with walking away. I’m okay with leaving the sport if I have to.”
While Cejudo says he wants to be paid more to fight again, no specific number was given publicly by the double champion for what that pay should be.
Cejudo also has some goals that he would like to accomplish that have nothing to do with being a professional MMA fighter.
“I’m good, man. I’m a smart guy, I do public speaking. I want to get into real estate. I want to get into a bunch of other things. My life doesn’t just revolve around fighting. I want to do so many other things. There’s a whole other aspect of Triple C and Henry Cejudo,” says Cejudo.
There is no word yet as to when Cejudo could return to action, but he should be ready to go after the aforementioned surgery in early 2020.
