Henry Cejudo Says Alexander Volkanovski Fight Would Lure Him Out Of Retirement

Former two division UFC champion Henry Cejudo retired after a successful bantamweight title defense over Dominick Cruz in the co-main event of UFC 249.

A retired Cejudo says the only fight that would lure him from retirement is a bout against UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski.

“I’ve done everything in MMA. I’m satisfied with my career. There would only be one fight that would really bring me back, that would really wake me up in the morning … it would be Alexander Volkanovski,” Cejudo said to TMZ Sports.

Volkanovski is expected to face former UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway for a second time in his next fight, but no date has been announced at this time.

Cejudo says that becoming a three division UFC champion would make him the greatest MMA fighter of all time.

“I want a 3rd title because I want to be different,” Cejudo said. “To go into the history books as the greatest mixed martial artist of all time.”

The retired fighter has been keeping busy as of late, recently appearing on AEW Dynamite while also hinting at a transition to boxing.
