Henry Cejudo & Marlon Moraes Vie For The Vacant Bantamweight Title At UFC 238
The vacant UFC Bantamweight Title will get a new owner at UFC 238 as the promotion announced today that UFC Flyweight Champion Henry Cejudo and Marlon Moraes will battle for the gold.
Cejudo (14-2-0) is going to be making his UFC Bantamweight Division debut in this bout and does so on a four fight winning streak. Cejudo has the opportunity to become one of a handful of fighters to hold two titles simultaneously if he wins at UFC 238. Cejudo is also the current UFC Flyweight Champion, last defending the title against TJ Dillashaw at UFC Fight Night Brooklyn.
Moraes (22-5-1) enters the contest while in the midst of a four fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost two years. Moraes was the first and only WSOF Bantamweight Champion, defeating Josh Rettinghouse to win the gold at the WSOF 9. Moraes has seen just seven of his professional MMA fights go the distance and the fighter won six of those encounters.
UFC 238 takes place on Saturday, June 8 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois with Henry Cejudo and Marlon Moraes headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
