Gerald Meerscaert Replacing Oluwale Bamgbose At UFC Fight Night 102
Oluwale Bamgbose has suffered an unspecified injury and he has been pulled from UFC Fight Night 102, replacing him against Joseph Gigliotti will be Gerald Meerschaert.
Meerschaert (24-8-0) is the current Resurrection Fighting Alliance Middleweight Champion, after he defeated Chase Waldon by first round submission at RFA 45. Meerschaert is also a former Combat USA Middleweight Champion, he defeated UFC fighter Sam Alvey to win the belt in 2010. Meerschaert will be making his UFC debut on a five fight winning streak, four of those wins were first round finishes.
Gigliotti (7-1-0) is currently winless under the UFC banner, dropping a bout to Trevor Smith by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 92. Gigliotti also fought once in the World Series Of Fighting, defeating Brendan Tierney at the WSOF 19. Gigliotti will be fighting for the fourth time in 2016, which makes it the busiest year for the fighter since turning pro in 2014.
This fight's placement on the card has yet to be announced, but the whole card will be streaming live on UFC Fight Pass.
UFC Fight Night 102 will be taking place on Friday, December 9 from the Time Union Center in Albany, New York with Derrick Lewis and Shamil Abdurakhimov headlining.
