Gegard Mousasi Wants To Fight Rory MacDonald, MacDonald Willing To Face Bellator 200 Main Event Winner
UFC veteran Gegard Mousasi is challenging Bellator MMA Middleweight Champion Rafael Carvalho for the strap in the main event of Bellator 200.
Mousasi plans on winning the title on that night, because he would like to fight Bellator MMA Welterweight Champion Rory MacDonald after that.
“After this fight, hopefully we can get it done and he can come and show his skills,” Mousasi said on The MMA Hour. “But he will come up short. His style is perfect for me, he moves forward — he’ll get his ass kicked, probably.”
MacDonald hasn’t competed since winning the title at Bellator 192 after defeating Douglas Lima by decision.
The Canadian star would take to Twitter to announce that he is willing to fight the winner of the Carvalho/Mousasi fight, no matter who that fighter is:
i agree to fight the winner of @RafaCarvalhoMMA vs @mousasi_mma for their middleweight championship after i defend my title at 170, hopefully it will go down the same night at bellator 200
