Francis Ngannou Focusing On UFC Heavyweight Title Shot

Francis Ngannou is currently undefeated in UFC competition with a 5-0-0 record, while he has a 10-1-0 record overall.

The heavyweight prospect is now shifting his focus to getting a UFC Heavyweight Title opportunity.

“I want someone to fight who can give me access to the title shot,” Ngannou said to MMA Junkie.

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski was the last victim of Ngannou, the two fought at UFC On Fox 23. At the fight, the UFC prospect defeated the former heavyweight champion by first round knockout.

While Ngannou knows that he needs a few more wins before getting a title shot, but he also has a list of fighters that he wants to fight.

“For sure, I want to fight Overeem too,” he said. “When I said I wanted to fight Cain before, they gave (Overeem to) Mark Hunt. I said I wanted to fight Overeem, Cain Velasquez or Junior Dos Santos.”

During his five fight run in the UFC, the heavyweight picked up wins over the aforementioned Andrei Arlovski, Anthony Hamilton, Bojan Mihajlovic, Curtis Blaydes and Luis Henrique. Ngannou has yet to have any of his professional MMA fights go the distance, with six of his wins coming via a first round finish.
