Former UFC Title Challenger Set For TUF 25 Finale

A featherweight division clash is the latest addition to the UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale as Gray Maynard is taking on Teruto Ishihara.

Maynard (12-6-1-1NC) has won just one of his last six fights under the UFC banner, and that lone win came over Fernando Bruno at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale. Maynard has fought on four other TUF Finale cards before, earning a record of 1-2-0-1NC in those previous appearances. Maynard has previously challenged for the UFC Lightweight Title, losing to Frankie Edgar once by TKO while also fighting Edgar to a draw.

Ishihara (9-3-2) has won two of four fights thus far in his UFC run, with those two victories coming over the duo of Julian Erosa and Horacio Gutierrez. Ishihara made it to the finals of the UFC Road To Japan reality show, but fought Mizuto Hirota to a draw in those finals. Ishihara is also a longtime veteran of the Shooto promotion, where he earned a total of five wins.

UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale takes place on Friday, July 7 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fight is providing live coverage of the event.
