Former UFC Champion Set For UFC Fight Night 105
A middleweight division attraction has been added to next month’s UFC Fight Night 105 card as #11 (welterweight) Johny Hendricks faces Hector Lombard.
Hendricks (17-6-0) will be making his middleweight division debut in this fight and he is also a former UFC Welterweight Champion. Hendricks will be entering the fight riding a three fight losing streak, dropping fights to Stephen Thompson, Kelvin Gastelum and Neil Magny. It has been almost two years since the last time Hendricks earned a win, which was a unanimous decision win over Matt Brown at UFC 185.
Lombard (34-6-1-2NC) hasn’t earned a victory in just about three years time, but he is also a former Bellator MMA Middleweight Champion. Lombard has earned victories in three of his eight UFC appearances, with those wins coming over Rousimar Palhares, Nate Marquardt and Jake Shields. Lombard never actually lost the Bellator MMA Middleweight Title, he relinquished it upon signing with the UFC, but during his reign, he defeated such notables as Kalib Starnes, Jay Silva, Alexander Shlemenko and Trevor Prangley.
UFC Fight Night 105 takes place on Sunday, February 19 from the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada with Junior Dos Santos headlining, the main card airs on Fox Sports 1.
