Former Bellator Champion Will Brooks Gets Second UFC Fight, Three More Bouts Added To UFC FN 96
Will Brooks cracked the UFC top 15 after his International Fight Week win, but his next fight won’t necessarily reflect that.
Brooks (19-1) will take on Alex “Cowboy” Olivera (15-3-1, 1 NC) at UFC Fight Night 96 in Portland, Oregon in October, UFC officials have announced.
Brooks made a successful by undewhelming debut at July’s The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale, defeating Ross Pearson via unanimous decision. Brooks, a former Bellator Lightweight Champion, has won nine fights in a row. His opponent Oliveira has emerged victorious in four of his last five fights, including a win over former Strikeforce mainstay KJ Noons. Oliveira splits time between welterweight and lightweigh, fighting onle one of his last five at 155 pounds.
Also announced for the show is Sergio Pettis (#15) (14-2) vs. Luis Smolka (#9) (11-1), Josh Burkman (28-13, 1 NC) taking on Bobby Green (23-7), and Kelly Faszholz (3-1) vs. Ketlen Vieira (6-0).
UFC Fight Night 96 will take place on October 1 from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
