Floyd Mayweather got paid handsomely for his services at Rizin 14.
The undefeated pro boxer claims to have made $9 million for competing in an exhibition boxing bout against Tenshin Nasukawa. The bout was scheduled for three three-minute rounds, but lasted less than three minutes as Nasukawa’s corner threw in the towel late in the first-round. Mayweather made quick work of the 20-year-old kickboxer, dropping him multiple times before his corner saved him from further punishment.
On Instagram, “Money” Mayweather revealed his pay for the contest.
Following the bout, Mayweather said the bout was “all about entertainment” before reiterating that he is still retired from boxing. He retired from professional competition in August 2017 after defeating Conor McGregor to push his pro record to 50-0.
Mayweather also praised Nasuwaka in his post-fight comments, stating, ”Tenshin is a hell of a fighter and is a true champion. Tenshin, hold your head up high. You’re still a champion. I want the whole world to support Tenshin. He’s a great guy and a great champion.”
