Floyd Mayweather and UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor are just ending their four city media tour to hype up their August encounter.
Mayweather feels that some of McGregor comments during the tour border on the racist side and he doesn’t want the UFC fighter disrespecting black people.
“Conor McGregor, you can’t disrespect black women. You can’t disrespect black people, period. We’ve been through a lot. We’ve been through a lot,” Mayweather said at a media scrum.
McGregor has come out in his own defense to say he isn’t a racist person, but still said he was half black during the New York City portion of the tour.
The entire racial controversy started at the first stop of the tour in Los Angeles when McGregor wanted Mayweather to “dance for me, boy.” The controversy would ensue the following day in Toronto when McGregor made the very same demand from the boxing great.
Although Mayweather has also taken some shots at McGregor during the tour, there was nothing said in a racial overtone by the boxing great. Instead, Mayweather focused on sexual slurs, calling McGregor a "ho" and "f-ggot.:
