Floyd Mayweather Comments On Conor McGregor Again, McGregor Responds

Floyd Mayweather retired after earning a tenth round TKO victory over UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor this past August. The boxing great recently appeared at NBA All-Star Saturday Night, where he was approached by Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie.

Bohn reported what he said when speaking with Mayweather backstage at the event and shared via Twitter:

Mayweather had been teasing a debut in mixed martial arts in recent weeks and UFC President Dana White had stated that a rematch between the two should happen in the Octagon.

McGregor got wind of what Mayweather said and issued a statement of his own through Instagram:

Besides a potential UFC debut against McGregor, a potential bout with pro wrestler turned MMA fighter CM Punk was recently brough up by Floyd’s uncle in Jeff Mayweather.

The UFC Lightweight Champion has stated that a return to MMA would be next, but there is no time frame as to when that could happen.
