Five Fights Added To UFC 216
Five more fights have been added to the UFC 216 card as Lando Vannata faces Abel Trujillo, Thales Leites faces Brad Tavares, #10 John Moraga faces #15 Magomed Bibulatov, Matt Schnell faces Marco Beltran and Walt Harris faces Mark Godbeer.
Vannata (9-2-0) has won just one of three under the UFC banner, with that lone victory coming over John Makdessi at UFC 206. Vannata also competed in the Resurrection Fighting Alliance, defeating Chad Curry by TKO at RFA 32.
Trujillo (15-7-0-1NC) has won three of his last four in the UFC, with those wins coming over Gleison Tibau, Tony Sims and Jordan Rinaldi. Trujillo has only suffered two defeats in his four year run with the UFC, with those losses coming Tony Ferguson and James Vick.
Leites (27-7-0) has won two of his last three under the UFC banner, those two wins came over Chris Camozzi and Sam Alvey. Leites earned a total of seven wins thus far in his second UFC run, while winning five fights in his first UFC run.
Tavares (15-4-0) enters the fight riding a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Caio Magalhaes and Elias Theodorou. Tavares also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 11, making it to the semi-finals before losing to Court McGee.
Moraga (17-6-0) has won just one of his last four in the UFC, with that lone victory coming over Ashkan Mokhtarian at UFC Fight Night 110. Moraga has previously challenged for the UFC Flyweight Title, losing to current champion Demetrious Johnson at UFC On Fox 8.
Bibulatov (14-0-0) has already earned a single victory under the UFC banner, defeating Jenel Lausa at UFC 210. Bibulatov was the first and only World Series Of Fighting Flyweight Champion, defeating Donovan Frelow at the WSOF 24 to win the gold.
Schnell (9-4-0) is currently winless under the UFC banner, having dropped fights to the duo of Rob Font and Hector Sandoval. Schnell also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 24, making it to the quarterfinals before losing to Tim Elliott.
Beltran (8-5-0) enters the fight on a two fight losing streak, having dropped fights to Joe Soto and Deiveson Figueiredo. Beltran also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter Latin America 1, losing to Jose Alberto Quinonez in the semi-finals.
Harris (10-5-0) is entering the fight on the strength of a two fight winning streak, defeating Chase Sherman and Cyril Asker. Harris went winless during his first run in the UFC, dropping bouts to Jared Rosholt and Nikita Krylov.
Godbeer (12-3-0) is looking to build on the momentum of his first UFC win, which came over Daniel Spitz at UFC 209. Godbeer also competed in Bellator MMA, where he dropped a fight to UFC veteran Cheick Kongo at Bellator 102.
