First UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion To Be Crowned At UFC 208
The first ever UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion will be crowned at UFC 208 as Holly Holm will be taking on Germaine De Randamie.
Holm (10-2-0) is a former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, she defeated Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 to win the title before dropping it to Miesha Tate at UFC 196. Holm is also a former Legacy Fighting Championships Women’s Bantamweight Champion, she defeated Juliana Werner to win the belt, but would give it up when signing with the UFC. Holm will actually be entering the fight on a two fight losing streak, dropping fights to Miesha Tate and Valentina Shevchenko respectively.
De Randamie (6-3-0) has won three of four fights under the UFC banner, defeating Julie Kedzie, Anna Elmose and Larissa Pacheco, while suffering a lone defeat to current UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes. De Randamie has only competed twice in the last three years and she hasn’t suffered a defeat in three years as well. De Randamie also competed four times under the Strikeforce banner, winning two of those four fights.
Notably left out of the situation is Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Cris "Cyborg" Justino, who passed up fights with both women.
UFC 208 takes place on Saturday, February 11 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with no headliners announced as of yet.
