First PFL Event Taking Place This Month

Say goodbye to the World Series Of Fighting and hello to the Professional Fighters League because the inaugural PFL event is set for June 30.

This is going to be one of four PFL events scheduled to take place by the end of the year, but the fights on these cards will not be “league fights,” but instead will determine rankings for who makes it into the first ever season.

The first ever PFL card is going to be headlined by a welterweight division fight as the final WSOF Welterweight Champion in Jon Fitch takes on Brian Foster.

There are just three other fights on the card, they include former WSOF Heavyweight Champion Smealinho Rama facing UFC veteran Rony Markes, Joao Zeferino facing Herman Terrado and UFC veteran Jason High faces Caros Fodor.

Originally, the PFL was set to official replace the World Series Of Fighting in 2018, but plans have changed and a taste of what the league is going to be about is going to be delivered on June 30.

Professional Fighters League 1 takes place on Friday, June 30 from the UNOH Fanzone In The Daytona International Speedway in Daytona, Florida with Jon Fitch and Brian Foster headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the NBC Sports Network.
